Essex Skeptics in the Pub

We aim to hold meetings on Wednesday near the beginning of each month.  This will depend on our speaker’s availability and being able to use the pub’s room.

We are always keen to hear from anyone that wishes to speak at one of our events.  Everyone is welcome to apply to be a speaker.  If you have a subject that you are passionate about, would like to engage the public with or would just like the opportunity to hone your public speaking skills, then we would love to hear from you.  Please go to our Contact Us page and fill out your details, including a brief description of your proposed topic, your experience and preferred dates and we shall endeavour to contact you ASAP

The talk is open to everyone.  It does not matter what you believe or if you are a skeptic or not.  Come along. Listen, ask questions of interest to you and enjoy a drink or two

The talks are free but we will pass round a hat and ask for a donation of approximately £5 to pay for the speaker’s expenses and running the group.  Any excess will be used to advertise, hire equipment etc.  Thank you for your donation.

We advertise 7.00pm but most talks start at nearer 7.30 – 8.00pm.  Come along early, reserve a seat and chat

The Woolpack is located at Mildmay Rd, Chelmsford CM2 0DN.  The Woolpack is conveniently located in central Chelmsford near the high street.  They serve a selection of country wide cask ales, real cider, imported German lager and worldwide bottled beers
